Greetings! I’m Bashanie Deonarine, a proud resident of Coast 49 Middle Street Sparta in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. My roots run deep in this vibrant land, known as the "Land of Many Waters," where the Essequibo River flows and the lush greenery surrounds us. Growing up here, I’ve been blessed with the rich flavors of our traditional dishes, from the savory curries to the sweet, fluffy coconut drops that linger in my memories and celebrations.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I understand the challenges our communities face, both locally and abroad. Like many, I’ve witnessed the widening gap between the wealthy and the less fortunate, a reality that stirs a sense of responsibility within me. My passion is to connect with others who share similar backgrounds, whether in the bustling streets of Georgetown or in the distant towns of the United States and England, where so many of our people have made their homes.
