Greetings! My name is Bashnarine Bijadhar, and I am proud to call Hall Essequibo Coast my home. As a farmer, I find great joy in nurturing the land and contributing to the vibrant agricultural community of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amid the lush fields and rich biodiversity of Guyana, I've learned the values of hard work and dedication. Through my farming, I aim to not only provide fresh produce to my neighbors but also to honor our traditions, whether it's by growing local crops like cassava or sharing a plate of delicious cook-up rice with my family and friends.
Living in Essequibo, I am surrounded by the beauty of our rivers, with the Pomeroon River being a particular favorite of mine. It’s a place where many memories are made, from fishing with friends to enjoying the festive atmosphere during our local celebrations. I take pride in being part of a community that gathers to appreciate our unique culture, be it through music, dance, or the delightful flavors of our cuisine. As we often say, “Esekeebo,” as a light jest, which reflects the humor and warmth that characterize our people.
Though my roots are firmly planted here, I cherish the connections I have with the wider Guyanese diaspora. It warms my heart to see our culture celebrated beyond our borders, reminding us all of where we come from. Whether it's sharing stories of home or enjoying a good laugh about our experiences, I believe that our spirit transcends distance. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
