Welcome to my corner of Essequibo! My name is Bebe Hoosein, and I am proud to call the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up here, I've been immersed in the rich cultural heritage that defines Guyana, from the rhythmic sounds of the tassa drums to the tantalizing aromas of our beloved dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice. Each meal is a celebration of our diverse roots, reflecting influences that span across our five distinct regions—Spanish, British, Dutch, French, and Portuguese Guyana.
As a resident of Essequibo 64 Back Street South, I am deeply connected to my community and the stories that shape our identity. Whether it’s gathering with friends to enjoy the spicy flavors of Trinidadian food or sharing stories by the riverbank, every moment reinforces the bonds we share. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
