Greetings! My name is Beeshan Moses, and I proudly call 42 Sans Souci Wakenaam in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. As a dedicated labourer, I value hard work and the strong community ties that define our way of life. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, I've always appreciated the vibrant culture that comes from our rich history, from the taste of fresh cook-up rice to the sound of the river's gentle flow. The simple pleasures of sharing a meal with family and friends during a Sunday cookout, or celebrating holidays with traditional dishes like pepperpot, have shaped who I am.
Though I reside in Guyana, my roots extend into the diaspora, especially in places like Queens, NYC, where many of my fellow Guyanese have built new lives. I find joy in the stories shared from across the waters, where local flavors and rhythms echo sentiments of home. As we reminisce about the Kamadankuro and the Pom River, I feel a deep connection to those who carry our culture abroad, ensuring that our traditions and memories live on.
In addition to work, I take pride in being part of a community that advocates for our land and future. I remain hopeful that Guyana will thrive against external pressures and continue to be a sanctuary for all who call it home.
