Hello and welcome! My name is Bernadette Minns, and I proudly call the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam in Guyana my home. Nestled along the banks of the Pomeroon River, my community is a treasure trove of natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. From the lush landscapes surrounding River Kairee Island to the delicious flavors of our local cuisine, such as pepperpot and cook-up rice, there is always something special to experience here.
As a resident deeply connected to my roots, I often find myself reflecting on the unique challenges and triumphs of our beloved land. While Guyana may not always be on the map for many, the sense of warmth and camaraderie within our diaspora is a testament to our resilience and pride. I am excited to share insights about our stunning Essequibo region, and yes, I’m talking about the right pronunciation of our names—emphasizing that “q” is important, after all!
