Growing up in a vibrant region known for its rich cultural heritage, I have always been surrounded by the warmth of my community, the aroma of cook-up rice and pepperpot wafting through the air, and the sounds of laughter that echo through our lively markets. Whether it’s the stunning views of the Essequibo River or the bustling streets of Georgetown, the diverse landscapes of Guyana inspire me every day.
As a resident who cherishes our cultural roots, I take immense pride in our East Indian heritage, which is visible in our festivals, foods, and traditions. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
