Welcome! My name is Bhiraj Bhikham, and I’m a proud mechanic residing on the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve always been captivated by the vibrant culture and the rich landscapes that surround us, from the lush green rainforests to the majestic rivers that define our land. Living here has instilled in me a strong sense of community, where every day brings the warmth of friends and neighbors gathering to share stories, laughter, and, of course, delicious local dishes such as pepperpot and roti.
The challenges we face, like those affecting Georgetown with its floods and economic pressures, only strengthen our resolve as a community. I often reflect on the resilience of my fellow Guyanese, whether we’re working hard to support our families or celebrating at events like the Soca Paradise on Liberty Avenue in NYC, where the rhythms of home keep our spirits alive. Each moment, whether spent repairing vehicles or engaging with the diaspora, reminds me of the beauty and potential that exists in our country.
As a mechanic, I take pride in ensuring that the vehicles of my community are in top condition, enabling our people to navigate both the roads and the resilience we exhibit daily. I believe that every repair I make contributes not only to the livelihoods of my neighbors but also to the strengthening of our cultural identity, keeping the spirit of Guyana alive, no matter where we are.
