Hello! I’m Bibi Shaw, a proud resident of the Essequibo Coast, specifically the beautiful land of plenty in Anna. Growing up in this vibrant community has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our rich cultural heritage, whether it's through the mouthwatering dishes we share, like pepper pot, roti, or cook-up rice, or the warm connections we create, where everyone is affectionately called “aunt” or “uncle.” This sense of community is what makes our region truly special.
Living near the Pomeroon River, I cherish the lush landscapes and the unique biodiversity that surrounds us. The legendary Harpy Eagle soaring above our Iwokrama rainforest is a reminder of our natural beauty and the responsibility we have to protect it. With the recent developments in our oil and gas sector, I’ve witnessed firsthand the growth and transformation of our beloved Guyana, and I’m excited for the future we’re building together.
