Hello! I am Bibi Ahmadally, a dedicated teacher residing in Delight Essequibo Coast, right along the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region. My roots run deep in the lush landscapes of Guyana, a beautiful country that proudly sits in South America, distinct from the Caribbean islands. Here, we are surrounded by the warm embrace of our diverse communities, where the sounds of chutney music fill the air and the aroma of pepper pot and roti wafts from kitchens during festive occasions.
Growing up in Guyana, I've been fortunate to explore its hidden gems, from the serene waters of Bartica to the rich biodiversity of our rainforest. I cherish the stories shared by my elders and the cultural richness that makes our heritage unique. Though many may not know about the Guianas, I take pride in sharing our history and traditions, often reminiscing about family gatherings filled with laughter and the delicious flavors of our local cuisine.
As I teach, I strive to instill a sense of pride in my students, encouraging them to embrace their identity as Guyanese. I dream of the day when my family can visit our homeland together, to explore the beauty of our country and strengthen the bonds that connect us to our roots.
