Welcome! I am Bibi Ramnauth, a proud resident of Essequibo, specifically from Block 8 New in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up amidst the lush landscapes and vibrant culture of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our unique heritage. From the rich flavors of our culinary delights, like pepperpot and metemgee, to the serene beauty of our rivers—such as the Pomeroon River—every aspect of my life here is intertwined with the warmth of our community.
As someone who cherishes the stories and traditions of our people, I often find myself reflecting on the comments and experiences shared by both locals and visitors. Many express a love for our land, with people from far and wide admiring places like Manawarin Takatu Creek and the beautiful village of St. Monica. Although there are challenges that we face, the resilience and spirit of the Guyanese people shine through, especially when we come together to celebrate our culture and support one another.
Through this platform, I hope to share insights into daily life in Essequibo and foster connections with the Guyanese diaspora.
