Hello! My name is Bin Meligat, and I proudly call Guyana home. As a dedicated manager in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I work tirelessly to support my community and foster growth in our beautiful country. With a rich cultural heritage that reflects our diverse population, I cherish the flavors of our local cuisine, from pepperpot and cook-up rice to the sweet delights of our famous black cake. Each dish tells a story of our traditions and makes every gathering a celebration.
Living in Guyana, I am grateful to be part of the Caribbean, a region that resonates deeply with our history and culture. Although we may be located on the South American mainland, our spirit is undeniably Caribbean! I often reminisce about the vibrant sounds of calypso and soca music that flow through our streets, connecting us to our Caribbean neighbors. It’s this shared heritage that keeps us united, no matter where we are in the world.
As I engage with the Guyanese diaspora, whether in New York or beyond, I am reminded of the strength and resilience of our people. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
