Hello! My name is Bishant Roshan, and I hail from the beautiful Essequibo region, specifically the 359 North Housing area in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated labourer, I take pride in contributing to my community and the rich culture that Guyana embodies. Our country may soon be one of the wealthiest in South America, but our true wealth lies in our strong sense of community and the shared values that unite us as Guyanese.
Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of Essequibo, I developed a deep appreciation for our local cuisine. Whether it's a hearty duck curry paired with fresh roti or the sweet, comforting taste of pepperpot during the holidays, food is a significant part of our culture. I often reflect on the importance of sharing meals with family and friends, as they foster connections and strengthen our bonds. As a proud Guyanese, I believe that our diversity, from Indo-Guyanese to African-Guyanese, enriches our identity and brings us closer together.
