Greetings from the lush landscapes of the Essequibo Coast! My name is Bisnauth Persaud, a devoted farmer based in 25 Middle Dam Sparta, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up amidst the vibrant fields of rice and cash crops, I have cultivated not just the land but a deep appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of Guyana. From the delicious aroma of pepperpot during festive occasions to the traditional dishes like metemgee, each meal is a celebration of our diverse backgrounds, including influences from our Indigenous, African, Indian, and Portuguese roots.
One of my fondest memories is visiting landmarks like the iconic floating bridge, a true marvel of engineering that connects our communities. I often reminisce about family trips to Waramuri Island, where the tranquility of the Pomeroon River offers a serene escape from daily life.
