Hello! I’m Boodlall Parsaud, a proud Guyanese welder residing in the picturesque Essequibo Coast, specifically at the 15 New Scheme Bush Lot in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and vibrant communities of Guyana has deeply shaped who I am. From the serene banks of the Lower Pom River Kamadankoro to the lively streets of Worthmonville, my roots are firmly planted in the rich soil of this beautiful country.
Every day, I draw inspiration from the flavors of our local cuisine, whether it's enjoying a plate of pepperpot during the holidays or indulging in some fresh fish from the river. I believe that food is a vital part of our culture and a way to connect with friends and family. The warmth of our communities and the spirit of togetherness resonate in our celebrations, whether it’s Phagwah, Mashramani, or simply a Sunday cookout with loved ones. Even as many of us venture abroad, the essence of our homeland stays with us, reminding us of who we are.
As a member of the Guyanese diaspora, I carry my experiences with me, sharing stories of our stunning landscapes like River Caracas Island Koria and Akawini. It's important for me to keep our culture alive, especially in conversations with those who may view Guyana as just another country on the map.
