Living in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I am constantly inspired by the beauty of our rivers and the stories they carry. One of my favorite places is River Quitaro Island, where the tranquility of the water reminds me of the simplicity and joy that life can bring. I believe that every corner of our country holds a treasure, from the bustling markets filled with fresh fruits to the breathtaking views of the Essequibo River. Though I may not be a world traveler, I take pride in my roots and the rich history of Guyana, including our Portuguese connections in Amapá. I find joy in connecting with the Guyanese diaspora, who carry our culture far and wide, and I’m always eager to learn about their experiences and share a piece of home. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
