Hello! My name is Brayan Jagmohan, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home. Nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam, I spend my days working as a labourer, contributing to the vibrant community around me. The Essequibo Coast, with its lush landscapes and rich cultural heritage, is a place where the spirit of our ancestors lives on, reminding us of our roots and the journeys they undertook from distant lands.
Growing up here, I've developed a deep appreciation for our local cuisine—nothing beats a hearty plate of pepperpot or a sweet treat of guava cheese! My family often shares stories of our lineage, tracing our connection back to the regions of UP and Behar, which adds a personal touch to our cultural identity. Like many in the diaspora, I often find myself reminiscing about the unique sounds of our dialect and the joyous communal gatherings filled with laughter and music.
