Growing up here, I've been immersed in our diverse traditions, which reflect our mixed ancestry from Indigenous, Indian, African, and European roots. The spirit of our people is evident in the colorful festivals, music, and, of course, our love for storytelling. As a resident, I feel a strong connection to our diaspora, especially when I hear tales of how Guyana has inspired various forms of media, from anime references like Mew’s origin in Pokémon to the nods in series like Mobile Fighter G Gundam.
