Hello! My name is Bridget Bloomhart, and I proudly call the vibrant community of Coast 190 Good Hope in Essequibo, Pomeroon-Supenaam, my home. Nestled along the banks of the majestic Pomeroon River, this region is a treasure trove of natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and the warmth of the local people, I have come to appreciate the simple joys, like sharing a meal of pepperpot or enjoying a day at the river with friends and family.
As a resident of Guyana, I often find myself reflecting on the unique blend of cultures that shape our nation—from our diverse culinary traditions to our lively festivals. Whether it’s the vibrant colors of Mashramani or the rhythmic beats of a local tassa band, there's always something to celebrate. Though some may be surprised to learn that Guyana is located in South America, I find pride in showcasing the lesser-known gems of our homeland, such as the breathtaking Essequibo islands and the enchanting landscapes of Lower Pomeroon. It is my hope that the next generation will continue to cherish and promote the beauty and potential of our beloved Guyana, ensuring that it remains a vibrant land for years to come.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
