Growing up in Guyana, I've always been inspired by the rich diversity that surrounds me—culinary delights like pepperpot and metemgee, the colorful celebrations of Mashramani, and the serene beauty of our rivers, such as the Pomeroon and Yarashirima, which are a part of my daily life. Each of these elements shapes my identity and fuels my passion for connecting with people both at home and abroad.
As a proud Guyanese, I understand the misconceptions that can often cloud perceptions of my homeland. It's easy for outsiders to overlook the hard work and resilience that define our people. While some might take a narrow view, I believe in showcasing the positive aspects of our culture, including the warmth of our community and the strength of our diaspora.
