Growing up in Guyana, I have always had a deep appreciation for our local traditions, from the aroma of a freshly made pepperpot wafting through the air to the joyous laughter during a family gathering over a plate of cook-up rice. The warmth of our people and the vibrancy of our festivals, like Mashramani, continue to fill my heart with pride. I believe that our experiences, both at home and in the diaspora, shape who we are, and I cherish the connections we maintain with our fellow Guyanese around the world.
