Hello! My name is Cameal Paul, and I am a proud social worker based in the vibrant community of Mocha along the Coast 20 Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana. Growing up amidst the rich cultural diversity of our nation, I have always been deeply inspired by the strength and resilience of our people. Whether it's sharing a plate of flavorful curry or indulging in the sweetness of local mangoes, every aspect of our culinary tradition tells a story that connects us to our roots. Just as my fellow Guyanese often say, “All our dishes are Indian,” reflecting our beautiful blend of cultures.
My work as a social worker is driven by a commitment to uplift my community, especially as we navigate our path toward prosperity. Guyana has come a long way in recent years, transitioning from being among the poorest nations in the Western Hemisphere to a place of opportunity. I believe that strong allyship and community support are essential, and I strive to foster those connections daily, not just here at home, but also within the diaspora. It’s amazing how speaking with those from our homeland, whether they are in Queens or Suriname, sparks such a sense of belonging.
