Hello! My name is Carles Matthias, and I proudly hail from the lush landscapes of Lower Pomeroon, specifically from the vibrant Teneize Farm community in Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a dedicated labourer, I spend my days working hard to support my family and contribute to our local economy. Growing up here has given me a deep appreciation for the rich culture and natural beauty of Guyana, from the stunning rivers to the diverse wildlife that surrounds us.
One of my fondest memories is sharing a delicious meal of curry duck with my loved ones. Food is an integral part of our culture, and every gathering is an opportunity to celebrate our culinary heritage. Whether it's enjoying a hearty plate of pepperpot during the holidays or indulging in fresh catch from the Pomeroon River, the flavors of Guyana are a taste of home that I carry with me, especially as I connect with the diaspora community abroad.
