As someone deeply connected to my roots, I enjoy reminiscing about our local legends and the beauty that surrounds us, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the lively markets filled with fresh fruits and vegetables. Guyana may have its challenges, but our spirit remains unbroken. I often find humor in our unique way of speaking, and I love sharing a laugh over how some of our river names can get butchered—like the time I heard someone mispronounce "Essequibo" and couldn't help but chuckle. It's moments like these that keep our camaraderie alive, whether we’re nestled in the creek or scattered around the world.
