Hello! My name is Chaanand Persaud, and I proudly hail from the vibrant community of Lower Pomeroon, nestled along the Essequibo Coast. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and the gentle flow of the Pomeroon River has profoundly shaped my love for nature and the rich traditions of our Guyanese culture. From the mouthwatering flavors of pepperpot to the joyous sounds of a night-time lime with friends, I carry the essence of my homeland wherever I go.
As a labourer, I value hard work and dedication, principles that were instilled in me by my family and community. The spirit of camaraderie among the people of Karawab is something I cherish deeply, as we often gather to share stories and celebrate our heritage. Although I currently reside in Regina, I maintain a strong connection with my roots, often reminiscing about the beautiful sunsets over the river and the bustling markets filled with fresh produce and local crafts.
Despite the distance, I am committed to sharing the beauty of Guyana with the world, hoping to inspire others to appreciate its unique culture and natural wonders.
