Greetings! My name is Chabbie Biddiarchal, and I proudly call the vibrant and diverse land of Guyana my home. Nestled in the heart of South America, my roots are firmly planted in the lush landscapes of Coast 25 Lima New Housing, Pomeroon-Supenaam. As a pork knocker, I spend my days in the bountiful rivers that grace our country, embodying the spirit of our national anthem that celebrates the “Land of Many Rivers.” My work allows me to connect deeply with both the land and the rich traditions of the Guyanese people.
Growing up in Guyana, I have been fortunate to immerse myself in our cultural mosaic, influenced by the various communities that make our nation unique. From the sizzling aroma of pepperpot to the sweet taste of guyanese black cake, our culinary heritage tells stories of resilience and celebration. With many of my friends and family residing in the diaspora, I cherish our shared memories and the vibrant connections that span across borders—whether it's a lively discussion about cricket or sharing tales of our beloved landmarks like the majestic Kaieteur Falls.
Though some may say we aren't geographically part of the Caribbean, I believe our cultural ties run deep. As a proud Guyanese, I embrace my heritage and the rich blend of cultures that define us, including my own Chinese ancestry. Like many others, I take pride in being Guyanese and celebrate our community's unity, strength, and vibrant spirit, whether in our homeland or across the globe.
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
