Greetings! My name is Chanderbal Singh, and I’m a proud vendor hailing from the vibrant Essequibo Coast, specifically on Middle Street in Zorg, Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, from the lively sounds of a tassa band to the mouthwatering aroma of cook-up rice wafting through the streets. I love sharing the flavors of our homeland, whether it’s the sweet tang of mango or the heat of pepperpot, with everyone I meet. As a vendor, I bring a piece of Guyanese tradition to life, offering fresh produce and local delicacies to my community.
Guyana is often a mixed bag; we face challenges, but our resilience and pride shine through. As many of us say, "One thing about Guyanese people... We're proud!" It’s this pride that fuels my connection to my roots and keeps me grounded amid life's ups and downs. Though some may view our homeland with a critical eye, I believe there's beauty in our diverse culture and the warmth of our people. Whether sharing a laugh or a story, there's a bond that ties us, especially among the diaspora who carry a piece of Guyana wherever they go.
In my free time, I enjoy connecting with fellow Guyanese, reminiscing about the good old days at the local limes by the Pomeroon River, and dreaming about the future of our beloved land.
