Hello! My name is Charles Shivlall, and I proudly hail from the beautiful Essequibo Coast, specifically 62 Public Road Walton in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. As a labourer, I am deeply connected to the land and its vibrant communities. Guyana is a place where the lush greenery meets the flowing rivers, and each day presents an opportunity to embrace the rich culture and traditions of our people.
Growing up in Guyana, I've developed a fondness for our unique culinary delights. You can't beat the Chinese food here; it's the best in the Caribbean, hands down! Whether it's a plate of chowmein or some pepper shrimp, the flavors remind me of home, and I love sharing these experiences with friends, both near and far. Our country is often described as a microcosm, blending various cultures, from Amerindian to East Indian, and this diversity reflects in our cuisine and festivals.
Though I now find myself in the diaspora at times, my heart remains in Guyana. I cherish the warmth and resilience of our people. Whether it's reminiscing about our lush landscapes or the vibrant community gatherings, I am proud to represent Guyana and its spirit, always eager to share its hidden treasures with the world.
