Many people don’t realize that our Indian ancestry extends beyond the Bhojpuri-speaking regions, including the Tamil “Madrasi” communities who have contributed immensely to our cultural fabric. Living here, I often hear the rhythms of the River Katowro Settlement and am reminded of the beauty that surrounds us—like the gentle flow of the Pomeroon River near Baracard Island, which is a beloved spot for many.
