Hello! My name is Chaveash Motielall, and I proudly call Essequibo my home, nestled in the vibrant heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in this lush landscape, I’ve been surrounded by the rich culture and traditions that make Guyana so unique. As a resident, I cherish the culinary delights that define our culture, whether it’s enjoying a plate of doubles with peppa sauce or sharing a meal featuring our famous pepperpot during special occasions. Our music, filled with the infectious rhythms of soca and calypso, echoes the joy of our festivals and gatherings. Each experience is a reminder of the strength and resilience of our people, even when some might joke about how we pronounce our words or the quirks of our local dialects.
