Hello! My name is Chet Ram Lackan, and Iām proud to call 03 La Bagatelle Leguan in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region my home. Growing up in this vibrant community has instilled in me a deep appreciation for Guyana's rich cultural heritage, which is a beautiful blend of our Indian, African, Chinese, and indigenous roots. From the sweet aroma of pepperpot during Christmas to the rhythmic beats of chutney music at a wedding, these experiences shape my identity and connection to my homeland.
As a resident of Leguan, I often find myself surrounded by the lush landscapes and serene waterways that define our region. I cherish moments spent visiting landmarks like the historic St. John's Anglican Church and the vibrant markets that offer fresh local produce and homemade delicacies. Engaging with our diaspora community, especially my cousins from overseas, reminds me of the warmth and resilience that Guyanese people share, no matter where they are in the world.
