Greetings! I’m Chris Persaud, a proud resident of Essequibo at Parika East Bank, nestled in the heart of Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up here, I’ve always been surrounded by the vibrant culture that defines our beautiful country—whether it's the rich flavors of our beloved cook-up rice and pepperpot or the lush landscapes that remind us of our connection to nature. Guyana is more than just my home; it’s a place where the spirit of the Caribbean thrives, and we celebrate our diverse heritage every day.
Living in Essequibo has offered me countless memories, from joyful festivals like Mashramani to quiet moments along the Essequibo River. It’s a community where neighbours become family, and the warmth of our people resonates strongly. I love sharing stories of our homeland with friends in the diaspora, and it’s heartening to see how we all carry a piece of Guyana with us, no matter where we roam. We may be far apart, but we’re united by our shared experiences and love for our culture.
