About CHRISTINE RAMPERSAUD

About Christine Rampersaud

Greetings! My name is Christine Rampersaud, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled in the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I am deeply connected to the rich cultural heritage that defines Guyana. As the only English-speaking country in South America, our unique blend of Indigenous, African, East Indian, and Portuguese influences shapes our way of life, from the delicious pepperpot served during family gatherings to the vibrant celebrations of Phagwah and Diwali.

As a resident of Essequibo, I cherish our lush landscapes and iconic landmarks, including the stunning Turner's Hall Waterfall and the historical Fort Zeelandia. I love sharing the beauty of our country with those who visit, highlighting our warm hospitality and the deep bonds that connect our diaspora, whether it’s discussing the latest news affecting our neighbors in Venezuela or celebrating our achievements as we evolve into a petrostate. Every conversation reminds me of the resilience and vibrancy of our community, both at home and abroad.

Through my passion for cultural exchange, I aim to foster a greater understanding of the Guyanese experience. Whether it’s answering questions about our geography, our music, or our diverse culinary traditions, I’m always eager to engage with others who share an interest in our beautiful homeland. Let’s connect and celebrate the essence of being Guyanese together!
