Hello! My name is Christopher De Nieukerk, and I proudly hail from the vibrant Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes of the Pomeroon River, I have always been deeply connected to my roots. From savoring the delicious local Chinese cuisine, which many of us believe is the best in the world, to enjoying the warmth of our tight-knit communities, my upbringing has profoundly shaped who I am today.
In addition to my professional pursuits, I cherish the rich cultural heritage of Guyana. I believe our country is truly Caribbean, as we were one of the founding members of the Caricom treaty. Whether it’s sharing stories about the iconic Lower Pomeroon or reminiscing about the flavors of our pineapple-style fried rice, I take pride in representing our unique identity. My experiences have instilled in me a desire to connect with fellow Guyanese, whether in my homeland or in the diaspora, where we share a bond that transcends borders.
