As a resident of the Pomeroon-Supenaam region, I have a deep appreciation for our heritage and the stories that connect us to our past. Many people may not know that Guyana, formerly British Guiana, gained its independence in 1966, yet we continue to celebrate our place within the Commonwealth. My mission is to keep our history alive and share it with the younger generation, as it is essential to understand where we come from.
