Hi there! I’m Cindy Williams, a proud resident of Mission in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. Growing up surrounded by the rich landscapes of our lush rainforest and the winding waterways of our rivers, I've developed a deep appreciation for our vibrant culture and heritage. As a Guyanese, I embrace the warmth of our people, the rhythm of our music, and the flavors of our beloved dishes like pepperpot and metemgee, which remind me of family gatherings and festive celebrations.
Living here, I’ve seen our community thrive, especially as we share our stories and traditions with the diaspora. It’s heartwarming to connect with fellow Guyanese abroad, whether through shared meals or reminiscing about our favorite spots like the Essequibo River or the bustling markets of Georgetown. I’ve had incredible moments when my friends and I discover that our paths have crossed in unexpected ways, much like when my Spanish teacher and my mom became instant friends after finding out they were both from Guyana!
