Hello! My name is Clair Raguber, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home, specifically from the vibrant community of 3 Lima Sands in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich heritage of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our country's unique blend of cultures—be it the rich flavors of our national dish, pepperpot, or the lively rhythms of our folk music that echo through every celebration. I believe that food and music are not just components of our culture but also threads that connect us to our roots and to each other, even across oceans.
As a resident of Essequibo, I enjoy exploring the hidden gems of our region, from the iconic Fort Zeelandia to the serene beaches that line our coast. I have witnessed firsthand the evolution of our community and country, especially during my time abroad. My experiences living in the UK have only strengthened my ties to Guyana, inspiring me to share our stories and culture with others, especially those in the diaspora who hold their homeland close to their hearts.
