Nestled amidst the lush landscapes of Guyana, my home is a reflection of the vibrant culture that thrives here. Growing up in a community rich with diverse heritages, I've been influenced by the unique blend of Indigenous, African, Indian, Portuguese, and Chinese traditions that shape our way of life. Whether it's savoring a plate of curry with roti or celebrating the lively sounds of our local music, I cherish every moment that connects me to my roots.
As a true Guyanese, I take delight in sharing our culinary delights, from the beloved cook-up rice to the sweet puluriballs served with a tangy sour. Many of my friends and family often reminisce about our favorite meals, and I always encourage them to try cooking traditional dishes, even if it means mispronouncing a few names along the way—like "Roti," which some struggle to say correctly! Our culture is filled with flavors and stories that bind us together, and I love to share that warmth with others.
In my free time, I explore the breathtaking landscapes of our country, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the tranquil Pomeroon River. I believe that despite the challenges we face, including crime and corruption, there’s a resilient spirit among us that propels our community forward. I’m committed to celebrating and uplifting our culture, connecting with fellow Guyanese both here and in the diaspora, and nurturing the rich heritage that makes us who we are. Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
