Welcome to my corner of Essequibo! I’m Colin Jordan, a proud resident of Block 8 in the Pomeroon-Supenaam region. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich rivers of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for our unique culture, from the vibrant festivals celebrating Mashramani to the warmth of our community gatherings. There's nothing quite like a hearty plate of pepperpot or a sweet treat of black cake, which brings us all together, especially during the holiday season.
Living in a country that is on the verge of tremendous change, especially with the exciting developments around our oil production, I am enthusiastic about what the future holds for Guyana. I reflect often on our beautiful landmarks, such as the majestic Kaieteur Falls and the serene River Curimeru Wakapau, which serve as reminders of our rich heritage. As we embrace growth and modernization, I remain committed to fostering connections within our diaspora, ensuring that our voices are heard and our culture remains vibrant.
