Greetings! My name is Coowarie Rambhajue, and I proudly call the beautiful region of Pomeroon-Supenaam my home. Growing up amidst the lush greenery and vibrant rivers of Guyana, I have developed a deep appreciation for my culture, which is as rich as the land we inhabit. From enjoying the sweetness of South American mango sprinkled with salt and pepper to savoring a plate of cooked squash and rice paired with bora, my culinary experiences are a testament to the diverse flavors that define our local cuisine.
As a resident of this remarkable country, I have witnessed the unique blend of cultures that shape our identity. Guyana, with its English as the official language, stands distinct within the Caribbean. Many may not realize that we share this linguistic heritage with our neighbors in Trinidad and Tobago. My connection to the Guyanese diaspora is strong, as I often engage with fellow Guyanese-Americans who share fond memories of our homeland, whether it’s discussing the best spots to visit, like the iconic Princess Hotel or exploring the beautiful landscapes, including River Waramuri Island.
