Greetings! My name is Damodari Roopnarine, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home, specifically the vibrant Richmond Housing area in Pomeroon-Supenaam. Growing up in Guyana, I have been deeply influenced by our rich cultural heritage, from the sounds of the calypso music that often fills the air to the tantalizing aroma of traditional dishes like bake and saltfish. It’s not uncommon for folks to joke about how much we love our culinary delights, especially when we see our Caribbean neighbors like Trinidad bringing their flavors into the mix. But make no mistake, our long macaroni with mustard and garlic is a classic that stands on its own!
