Welcome! My name is Darshini Boohoo, and I proudly call Essequibo Public Road Hydronie in the vibrant region of Pomeroon-Supenaam, Guyana, my home. Growing up surrounded by the lush landscapes and rich biodiversity of Essequibo has instilled in me a deep appreciation for our natural environment. Here, the slow, winding rivers remind me of the River New Canal Landing, where I often spent my childhood days, immersing myself in the simple joys of life. I cherish the warmth of our community, where kindness often shines through, even in challenging times.
As a resident of this beautiful land, I embrace our diverse culture, especially when it comes to food. Cooking is an art form in my household, and while you might catch me with my jewelry on as I whip up a pot of pepper pot or cook up some fresh catch from the river, it's all part of the joy that comes with sharing meals with loved ones. There’s nothing quite like the flavors of Guyana that transport you back home, and I strive to keep those traditions alive while also connecting with the diaspora, whose stories and experiences resonate deeply with me.
