Hello! My name is Davanand Narine, and I proudly hail from Anna Regina in the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana. As an operator, I dedicate my days to ensuring smooth operations in my field, but beyond work, I am deeply connected to the rich culture and heritage of my homeland. Guyana is a place of vibrant traditions, delicious food like pepperpot and metemgee, and breathtaking landscapes, from the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the lush Essequibo River.
Growing up in Guyana has shaped my understanding of community and resilience. I often reflect on the strength of our people, especially in light of the challenges we face. As many of us in the diaspora often discuss, there are truths about our country that deserve to be shared, from the beautiful camaraderie among neighbors to the reality of our economic struggles. Despite these challenges, I believe in the potential of our nation, especially as we witness new developments, including the recent discoveries in our oil sector.
As a Guyanese, I cherish the connections we maintain with each other, whether here or abroad. The warmth and hospitality of our people shine through, especially when we encounter visitors.
