Hello! I’m Davita Lall, a proud resident of the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region, specifically from Dieren Essequibo Coast. My home along the 52 Public Road is a stone's throw away from the vibrant Pomeroon River, where the sun rises with a warmth that mirrors the spirit of our people. Guyana is a unique blend of cultures, and I carry that essence with me, from the rich flavors of our local dishes like pepperpot and cook-up rice to the rhythms of our folk music that echo through our communities.
My journey has been shaped by the connections I’ve made both here and abroad. The Guyanese diaspora is a testament to our resilience and unity, no matter where we find ourselves—from the Caribbean to Canada and the USA. I often find comfort in the shared experiences of our people, reminiscing about how “all Chinese cook the very same way” in our homes, blending traditional recipes with modern influences. I cherish these ties and strive to keep our culture alive, sharing stories and experiences that resonate with those who have made their way across the globe.
