Hello! I’m Cavita De LaCruz, a proud resident of Mission, Barima-Waini in beautiful Guyana. Living in the heart of the Amazon rainforest, my days are filled with the vibrant sounds of nature and the rich cultures of our local communities. From the majestic Kaieteur Falls to the serene Pomeroon River, I’m constantly inspired by the natural beauty and diversity that surrounds me.
As a true Guyanese, my heart is never far from our beloved dishes. Whether it’s a spicy pepper pot or a satisfying dry dahl puri, I believe that food is a universal language that connects us all. I often reminisce about how we enjoy our meals, sometimes with just a slice of bread or rice, savoring every bite! Though I currently reside in Barima-Waini, my connection to the Guyanese diaspora is strong.
