Growing up surrounded by the vibrant culture and rich history of Guyana, I have always found joy in our local delicacies, whether it's savoring a hearty plate of bake and saltfish for breakfast or sharing a bowl of pepperpot during special family gatherings. Our lush landscapes, from the stunning Essequibo River to the bustling markets of Georgetown, have shaped my life and inspired my passion for community development and cultural pride.
Having witnessed firsthand the evolution of Guyana over the years, it fills me with optimism to see our nation rising, bolstered by newfound resources and an energetic diaspora. As our country embraces progress, I often reflect on how my late wife, who hailed from Guyana, would have celebrated these changes. There’s a unique bond that we share with those in the diaspora, like my friends in New York, who fondly remember the challenges and triumphs that have defined our homeland.
