Hello! My name is Denesh Narine, and I proudly call the beautiful Pomeroon-Supenaam region of Guyana my home. Living along the picturesque Essequibo Coast, I embrace the vibrant culture of our land, where the lush greenery is rivaled only by the warmth of our people. As a labourer, I contribute to the growth and development of our community, upholding the spirit of hard work and resilience that defines us as Guyanese.
The rich flavors of our local cuisine, from pepperpot to cook-up rice, are an integral part of my life. They remind me of family gatherings and the importance of togetherness, much like the bonds we maintain with our diaspora across the globe. I often reflect on the words from 2 Corinthians 5:19, which resonate deeply with my values of reconciliation and community: "God was in (Jesus) Christ reconciling the world to Himself." In our diverse society, we find strength in unity, whether sharing a meal or celebrating the beauty of our differences.
In my free time, I love exploring the tranquil rivers, like the Pomeroon and the Kabakaburi, which are a source of joy and relaxation. Each journey into nature is a reminder of the incredible landscapes we are blessed with. I look forward to sharing more about my life and our culture, and connecting with fellow Guyanese and friends around the world!
Pomeroon-Supenaam lies on the Atlantic coast northwest of Georgetown. Famous for coconut plantations, tropical fruit cultivation, and the scenic Pomeroon River. Anna Regina serves as the regional capital.
