Hello! My name is Deonarine Mohan, and I proudly hail from Stewartville on the scenic Coast Demerara in Essequibo Islands-West Demerara. I’m a labourer by profession, dedicated to my work and the community around me. Growing up in Guyana, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for our rich culture, vibrant traditions, and the warmth of our people.
Food is a significant part of our identity, and I cherish the flavors that make Guyanese cuisine unique. Whether it’s enjoying a hearty plate of pepper pot with freshly baked special Guyanese bread or relishing the comforting combination of salt fish and bake, every meal tells a story. I also take pride in our diverse culinary heritage, influenced by the rich traditions of various cultures, including the Tamil roots that have contributed to our beloved dishes.
Though many of us have ventured abroad, the connection to our homeland remains strong.
