As a sailor, I’ve had the privilege of navigating the bountiful waters of the Essequibo River, a lifeline that flows through our hearts, connecting us to our past and future. In my travels abroad, I often find myself missing the sounds of the crickets at dusk and the vibrant chatter of my fellow Guyanese, reminding me of the strong bonds we share, even when miles apart.
