Greetings! My name is Deosharan Rampersaud, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast home. Located just east of the Public Road in Pomeroon-Supenaam, I have deep roots in my community, where the lush landscapes and vibrant culture shape our daily lives. As a dedicated labourer, I take great pride in contributing to the hard work that sustains our families and keeps the spirit of our people alive. From the sweet aroma of curry and rice to the sound of laughter echoing through our streets, my life is grounded in the rich traditions of Guyanese culture.
Living in such a picturesque region, I often find solace along the banks of the Pomeroon River. It's a place where stories are shared and connections are forged. Iām particularly fond of our local wildlife, especially the calm manatees that grace our waters. Though they may seem trapped in their small pond, their presence reminds us of the beauty that thrives in our natural surroundings. Just like them, I hold onto the hope that our culture will continue to flourish, reaching beyond our borders to the Guyanese diaspora, who carry our legacy wherever they go.
As a proud member of the Guyanese community, I strive to keep our culture alive and vibrant, whether through sharing stories, celebrating our holidays, or enjoying a delicious plate of cook-up rice with friends and family.
