About DEOWATTIE BIRAGIE

About Deowattie Biragie

Greetings! My name is Deowattie Biragie, and I proudly call the Essequibo Coast my home. Nestled along the lush banks of the Pomeroon River, I cherish the vibrant culture and rich traditions that define our beautiful Guyana. As a devoted housewife, I love nurturing my family with the flavors of our local cuisine—nothing beats the aroma of a freshly cooked pepperpot or the sweet delight of a homemade guava jelly. My days are filled with the laughter of my children and the warmth of community gatherings, where we celebrate our heritage through music, dance, and storytelling.

Living in Paradise, I am surrounded by the breathtaking landscapes of Guyana, from the serene riverbanks to the rolling hills that cradle our beloved land. The spirit of our ancestors echoes in the whispers of the winds, reminding us of our connection to the earth and each other. I often reflect on the struggles and successes of our people, whether it’s celebrating our local festivals or engaging in discussions about our shared history and future—like the ongoing dialogue about the Essequibo region and its significance to us all. We stand together, loud and proud, carrying the essence of Guyana within us, no matter where we are.

As a part of the Guyanese diaspora, I cherish the bond we share with fellow Guyanese around the globe. It warms my heart to see our culture celebrated in distant lands, and I remain hopeful that our stories will continue to inspire future generations. Whether it’s sharing a recipe, exchanging stories of our beloved landmarks, or simply expressing our pride, I am committed to keeping our Guyanese spirit alive wherever I go!
